I heard a Marvin Gaye song on the radio today that I had never heard before. What’s totally weird is that the song has pedal steel all over it, and it is a Christmas song. Here is a short article about the song, “I Want To Come Home For Christmas” (1972) by the songwriter Forest Hairston.

Totally weird to come across documentation of Charles Ives (one of my favorite composers) singing…very badly. Context: Factoid: the original string arrangement for “El Dorado” that I came up with for Javelins had a short burst of Ives-esque atonality at the end, but was swiftly vetoed by the band. Whomp.
